Default Baby vaccination

We have just arrived in HK from France with our 3-month old baby girl. Does anyone know where I can have my baby vaccinated ? Thanks in advance.

welcome to hong kong!

any pediatrician's office should be able to take care of the vaccinations for you. take your vaccination card with you to the appointment so they can see which vacc's your daughter has already received and "stamp" which vacc's they give her at the appointment.

if you are looking for a pediatrician, there if you use the search function (might be more useful on the geobaby forum) you will see many threads on pediatrician's in hk and their pros and cons.

the government clinics also provide vaccinations at greatly reduced costs, i believe $60 per visit.

You can have your baby vaccinated at the Government clinics for all of the vaccines that are mandatory in the HK public system for FREE!!! As far as I am aware anyone is entitled to these as long as they have ID card(parent)/ visa.

We then take our daughter to our private ped for the ones that aren't offered here but she would have had back in the UK.

It can be pretty pricey to have them all done privately, but depends on your insurance and your view of using the public system- we have nothing but praise for it but I know there are a lot of opinions on this subject.

A year later, I have the same question as the original poster. Just wondering how you got on with your 3mo-old's vaccinations? Were they to a similar standard as the UK or US?

you can get the vaccinations in the private clinics which you'll have to pay for or take the public route which you don't have to pay for (if you're a HK resident).

there's a vaccination record card which you have to follow and get vaccinations for bub according to that card. in other countries, 4-5 jabs are enough but there are too many jabs listed in that card (first dose...second dose...third dose...booster dose). i'd prefer to just get my bub the main 4-5 jabs rather than follow that card BUT "when in hk, do as the hongkongers do"......
