I am currently looking at a possible move to Hong Kong for work and looking for some help. I want to be sure the transition for my wife and 2 year old son are as smooth as possible. My wife and I think the opportunity to live in HK will be great for our family but it will be more difficult for her since I will be working. If there are any wives out there with some information on their experiences with this adjustment and things that have helped; it would be appreciated. Thank you

Depending on where you end up in HK, there can be many expat families, babies, ect. around so you don't feel so 'alone'. I have only been here (from US) for six months, but as a mother of three little ones I'd be happy to try to send some helpful information your way if you have specific questions... Good luck to you! ![]() Katie

This is our second overseas experience. We were in the US for 4 years and even though the US is a great country to live in (we'd love to return), it was much harder to adjust than Hong Kong. Many of my friends (who have lived in our countries as well) agree ... Hong Kong is "expat for beginners". That doesn't mean it's always easy but it's not that hard to build a life and have a good experience.
